G'Day, Thank you for the suggestions. The server is using the ext3 file system. It appears cpio does not support files greater that 2G. If I tarball the structure, the system has no problem. sean "Peter C.J. Graham" wrote:

G'Day, Does anyone have a good links to information on turning on LFS (large file support). I wish to create files greater than 2G on a RedHat 7.2 install, it doesn't permit at the moment. I have had little success crusing the net. Does anyone have a pointer?
It came stock with my install. It is possible that certain applications still don't use the LFS syscalls. Are you running the ext3 filesystem?
