I have been looking at a router/firewall upgrade to an "internet security appliance" (ISA) for a small business to expand capavility for remote VPN access, VoIP, NAT/PAT, multi host DMZ, support for desktop videoconferencing configurations, etc. Net search points to Sonicwall, ZyXEL/Zywall and on high end Cisco.. . So far Zywall 70 seems closest fit to functions/features allowing some room for user growth. Any comments/suggestions on experiences with ISAs? Thanks iun advance for any comments. Offtopic plea for help

This is not at all a Unix question, but I don't have any better ideas. I have a Pioneer DV-343 DVD player, and it works fine with CDs, but when I pop in a movie DVD, I get no sound. The picture plays fine. It *used* to play the sound, but I want to be really sure this player is defective before I buy another one. I have another DVD player which plays just fine through the exact same connection to my Yamaha 5.1 Dolby Digital receiver. So, does anyone have a home theatre system and want to try plugging in my DVD player to it and see if they can wrestle some sound out of it? The DVD player has stereo, S/PDIF coax and S/PDIF fibre outputs. It should be easy to pop it in place of your current player. I can bring it to the meeting on Tuesday if there are any takers. Linux PVR Project

I remember us having a discussion on linux PVRs a few months back and was wondering how the project was progressing. Are we going to get a MUUG presentation anytime soon? Some quick questions... MythTV or FreeVo? Is it possible to setup multiple capture cards to record 1 TV program while watching another? The meeting topic for this month is as follows: Revolution OS Since our scheduled presenter (that would be Shawn) had an unexpected business trip, we will be showing Revolution OS. So bring your popcorn. Revolution OS tells the inside story of the hackers who rebelled against the proprietary software model and Microsoft to create GNU/Linux and the Open Source movement. There are interviews with Linus Torvalds, Richard Stallman, Bruce Perens, Eric Raymond, Brian Behlendorf, Michael Tiemann, Larry Augustin, Frank Hecker, and Rob Malda (from Slashdot). Problem with fetchmail

Hi everyone, I'm using a redhat 7.2 with fetchmail 5.9.0+IMAP-GSS+SSL+INET6+NLS I have a problem where it is giving error code 2, and when I check, the socket opens manually, however, when as a script, it does not seem to want to open a socket. I have changed MTU's, checked against another server and against the protocols as per the /etc/services. Unfortunately, I cannot upgrade the server as the programs are old, and I need to find a solution. Can anyone help? Chris

The IMIT Network is devoted to disseminating new ideas about ICT sustainability models for the voluntary sector, including special emphasis on the use of FOSS within the sector. The IMIT Manitoba Network has been established as a Pan-Manitoba partnership and was initiated to provide support for the voluntary and non-profit sector, by the voluntary and non-profit sector.
